Ingredients

Scale

8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
1/2 cup unsalted butter
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Melt chocolate and butter together until smooth.
  • Whisk sugars, eggs, and vanilla until slightly thick.
  • Mix melted chocolate into the egg mixture.
  • Combine dry ingredients and fold into the batter.
  • Stir in chocolate chips.
  • Scoop dough onto baking sheet.
  • Bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are set.
  • Cool slightly before transferring to a rack.

Notes

Do not overbake to keep the centers soft. Chilling the dough helps control spreading.
