Tender baked chicken breasts smothered in a creamy sour cream sauce, topped with golden melted cheddar cheese. A comforting, one-dish meal that’s quick and family-friendly.
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 cup sour cream
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, divided
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp paprika
Salt and pepper to taste
Optional: green onions or parsley for garnish
Preheat oven to 375°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Season chicken with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
In a bowl, mix sour cream with 1/2 cup cheddar cheese and a pinch of salt and pepper.
Place chicken in dish and spread sour cream mixture evenly over the top.
Sprinkle remaining cheese over each piece.
Bake uncovered for 30–35 minutes, until chicken reaches 165°F and cheese is bubbly.
Let rest 5 minutes before serving. Garnish as desired.
Use Greek yogurt instead of sour cream for a lighter version.
Add steamed broccoli or spinach for extra veggies.
Broil the top for 2 minutes for added browning.
