Tender baked chicken breasts smothered in a creamy sour cream sauce, topped with golden melted cheddar cheese. A comforting, one-dish meal that’s quick and family-friendly.

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

  • 1 cup sour cream

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, divided

  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

  • 1/2 tsp onion powder

  • 1/2 tsp paprika

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Optional: green onions or parsley for garnish

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

  • Season chicken with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.

  • In a bowl, mix sour cream with 1/2 cup cheddar cheese and a pinch of salt and pepper.

  • Place chicken in dish and spread sour cream mixture evenly over the top.

  • Sprinkle remaining cheese over each piece.

  • Bake uncovered for 30–35 minutes, until chicken reaches 165°F and cheese is bubbly.

  • Let rest 5 minutes before serving. Garnish as desired.

Notes

  • Use Greek yogurt instead of sour cream for a lighter version.

  • Add steamed broccoli or spinach for extra veggies.

  • Broil the top for 2 minutes for added browning.
