Creamy, buttery mashed potatoes infused with roasted garlic, perfect for holidays, family dinners, or weeknight comfort meals.

Ingredients

2 pounds Russet or Yukon gold potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks
4 cloves garlic, peeled and roasted or sautéed
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1/2 cup heavy cream or milk
1/4 teaspoon salt, or to taste
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Optional: 2 tablespoons sour cream or cream cheese
Optional: 1 tablespoon chopped fresh chives or parsley

Instructions

  • Peel and cut potatoes into chunks.
  • Boil in salted water until tender, about 15–20 minutes.
  • Roast or sauté garlic.
  • Drain potatoes and mash until smooth.
  • Gradually add butter, cream, and garlic, mashing until creamy.
  • Optional: fold in sour cream or cream cheese.
  • Season with salt and pepper; garnish with herbs.
