Ingredients

4 slices sourdough or Italian bread
4 tablespoons basil pesto
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
4 slices provolone cheese
2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
2 tablespoons softened butter

Instructions

  • Spread pesto evenly on one side of each bread slice.

  • Layer mozzarella, provolone, and Parmesan on one slice.

  • Top with second slice, pesto side inward.

  • Spread butter on the outside of both slices.

  • Heat skillet over medium-low heat.

  • Cook sandwich 3 to 4 minutes per side until golden and cheese melts.

  • Rest briefly, slice, and serve warm.

Notes

Use medium-low heat for even melting.
