2 tablespoons butter
2 large yellow onions, thinly sliced
2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 cup sour cream
1 (10.5-ounce) can cream of chicken soup
1/2 cup beef broth
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 cup crushed cornflakes or buttery crackers
1 cup French fried onions
2 tablespoons melted butter

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Caramelize onions in butter over medium heat until golden.
