A sweet and savory one-pan side dish of tender carrots and green beans glazed with honey, garlic, and butter. Perfect for holidays or weeknight dinners.

4 medium carrots, peeled and sliced
8 oz fresh green beans, trimmed
2 tbsp honey
1 tbsp butter
1 tbsp olive oil
2 garlic cloves, minced
Salt and pepper to taste
Optional: lemon juice, red pepper flakes, fresh herbs

Instructions

  • Peel and slice carrots. Trim green beans.

  • Blanch carrots in boiling salted water for 3–4 minutes. Drain and set aside.

  • Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat.

  • Add carrots and green beans. Sauté for 6–8 minutes until tender-crisp.

  • Stir in garlic and cook for 30 seconds.

  • Drizzle in honey and stir to glaze. Cook 1–2 minutes more.

  • Season with salt, pepper, and optional lemon juice or herbs.

Notes

Use maple syrup for a vegan version.
Don’t overcook green beans—keep them crisp-tender.
