Pecan Pie Bars with Golden Shortbread Crust

Sweet, buttery bars with a crisp crust, gooey pecan filling, and nutty flavor.

Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup light brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup corn syrup
3 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 1/2 cups pecans, chopped

Instructions

  • reheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×13-inch pan with parchment paper.
  • Cream 1 cup butter and 1/2 cup sugar until light and fluffy. Mix in flour and salt until crumbly.
  • Press crust into pan and bake 15–18 minutes until lightly golden.
  • Whisk together brown sugar, corn syrup, eggs, vanilla, and 1/4 cup melted butter. Stir in pecans.
  • Pour filling over crust and spread evenly.
  • Bake 25–30 minutes until bubbly and slightly set.
  • Cool completely, then cut into bars.

Notes

Toast pecans for deeper flavor; refrigerate before cutting for cleaner slices.
