1/2 cup unsalted butter
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup chocolate chips or chunks (optional)
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch pan with parchment paper.
Melt butter and chocolate together over low heat until smooth; cool slightly.
Stir in granulated and brown sugar.
Beat in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla extract.
