Quick and easy fudgy chocolate brownies with a moist, dense texture and optional chocolate chips or nuts.

Ingredients

1/2 cup unsalted butter
1 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional)
1/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F and line an 8×8-inch pan.
  • Melt butter and allow to cool slightly.
  • Whisk eggs and vanilla, then add butter and sugar.
  • Fold in cocoa, flour, salt, and baking powder.
  • Fold in chocolate chips or nuts if desired.
  • Pour batter into pan and bake 20–25 minutes.
  • Cool 10–15 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Avoid overbaking for fudgy brownies. Add espresso powder or swirl in caramel for flavor variations. Freeze for later use.
