Grilled Shrimp With Spicy Mango Lime Coulis is a vibrant dish that balances smoky, sweet, and spicy flavors for a tropical culinary experience.

Ingredients

Scale

1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
2 ripe mangoes, peeled and chopped
1-2 fresh red chilies, seeded and chopped
3 tablespoons fresh lime juice
1 teaspoon lime zest
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon honey or agave syrup
Salt and pepper, to taste
2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped
Optional: 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper for extra heat

Instructions

  • Rinse and pat shrimp dry. Combine garlic, ginger, olive oil, salt, pepper, and half the lime juice. Toss shrimp in marinade for 15–20 minutes.
  • Blend mangoes, chilies, remaining lime juice, lime zest, and honey until smooth. Adjust sweetness or heat. Set aside.
  • Preheat grill to medium-high and oil grates. Thread shrimp onto skewers.
  • Grill shrimp 2–3 minutes per side until pink and slightly charred. Avoid overcooking.
  • Taste and adjust coulis seasoning. Drizzle some on a platter before placing shrimp.
  • Arrange shrimp on platter, spoon coulis on top, and sprinkle cilantro. Serve warm.
  • Optional: add cayenne or sliced chilies for extra heat.

Notes

Use ripe mangoes for sweetness, avoid overcooking shrimp, and adjust coulis thickness with water.
