Turtle Cookies are soft, buttery cookies topped with gooey caramel, toasted pecans, and drizzled chocolate for a rich, indulgent treat.

Ingredients

Scale

1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup chopped pecans, toasted
1/2 cup caramel sauce or soft caramel candies, chopped
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips or chopped chocolate

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • Cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.
  • Whisk flour, baking soda, and salt; fold into wet mixture.
  • Fold in toasted pecans. Scoop dough onto sheets, 2 inches apart.
  • Bake 10–12 minutes until edges are lightly golden. Cool 5 minutes.
  • Press caramel pieces onto cookies, drizzle melted chocolate on top, and let set.

Notes

Toast pecans for flavor; use soft caramel or sauce; sprinkle sea salt for contrast; chill dough for less spreading.
