Chicken Street Tacos are vibrant, juicy tacos with tender, marinated chicken, fresh onions, cilantro, and optional creamy or spicy toppings, perfect for casual dinners or festive occasions.

Ingredients

1 pound boneless, skinless chicken thighs
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons lime juice
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
8 small corn tortillas
1/2 cup chopped fresh cilantro
1/2 cup finely diced white onion
Optional toppings: diced avocado, pickled jalapeños, Mexican crema or sour cream, lime wedges

Instructions

  • In a bowl, combine olive oil, lime juice, garlic, chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  • Add chicken thighs, coat evenly, cover, and refrigerate 30 minutes to 2 hours.
  • Heat skillet over medium-high heat and cook chicken 5–7 minutes per side until golden and internal temp reaches 165°F.
  • Warm tortillas in a dry skillet or over a flame.
  • Slice chicken into bite-sized pieces.
  • Assemble tacos with chicken, onions, cilantro, and optional toppings. Serve with lime wedges.

Notes

Adjust spice, toppings, and tortillas to preference. Chicken breasts can replace thighs. Can add vegetables or additional proteins.
